DPA alliance to be finalised soon: Narayanasamy

Pondicherry, Apr 7 (UNI) An alliance among the constituents of the Democratic Progressive Alliance (DPA) would be finalised in a couple of days, according to AICC General Secretary V Narayanasamy.

Talking to newspersons here today, he said the talks were progressing smoothly and was on the verge of completion.

Mr Narayanasamy said other parties had been apprised of the views of the Congress party.

He said there is no question of Congress fighting it alone, addig that the party, would highlight the performance of the Central Government and the schemes allocated for the Union Territory, apart from welfare schemes implemented by the Congress Government here, as its election plank.

Nepal government condemned for mass arrest

SC dismisses status report on River Linking Project as 'vague'

New Delhi, Apr 7 (UNI) The Supreme Court today described as ''vague'' the status report filed by the centre in relation to the progress made in the Rs 11,000 crore River Linking project. A bench comprising Chief Justice Y K Sabharwal and Mr Justice C K Thakker today directed the Union Ministry of Water Resources to file next status report about the progress made in the project upto July 31, 2006 by the second week.....
