Delhi experiences season's hottest day at 39 degree C

New Delhi, Apr 7 (UNI) The national capital experienced the season's hottest day today with the mercury touching 39.1 degrees Celsius in the afternoon.

The maximum temperature was four degrees more than what was normally expected at this time while the minimum was 20.1 degrees Celsius, which was also a degree more than the normal temperature at this time, India Meteorological Department said.

And as if this was not enough similar temperatures had been predicted for the next 24 hours as well, with clear wide sky and the sun beating down hard.

Last week or so temperatures had been rising steadily with April feeling like May-June.

Yesterday, the maximum temperature was 38 degrees C while the minimum was 20.2 degrees.

However, both BBC and CNN have predicted some relief from the scorching heat, though only next week.

Narmada oustees protest central ministers

Bhopal, Apr 7: Three central ministers today met with strong protest from displaced people while inspecting resettlement sites of the Sardar Sarovar dam on the Narmada river in Dhar and Badwani districts of western Madhya Pradesh. Smaller states not possible for now: Rao
