Official sources said Naseer Ahmed Juzvi, a resident of Sultandaki in Uri, had crossed over to Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) in 1990 for arms training.

Juzvi married Naseema, a resident of Muzafarabad, during his stay in PoK, they added.

Last night, Juzvi, his wife and four children crossed the LoC at the Kaman Post and surrendered before the troops.

The soldiers handed over Juzvi and his family members to the Uri police station, the sources said.

Earlier, seven militants had reportedly crossed the LoC from Uri and surrendered before the authorities.

Several political leaders and groups have urged the government to offer general amnesty to the disgruntled youth who crossed over to PoK for arms training and were now willing to return and lead a normal life.
