Congress candidate files nominations for byelection

Patna, Apr 7 (UNI) Congress-RJD combine candidate Rana Ajay Kumar Singh today filed nomination papers for the Patna (west) assembly constituency for which byelection is scheduled on April 24.

Chief spokesman of state Congress Prem Chandra Mishra told mediapersons that party would make the ''failure'' of the NDA government during its four-month tenure as the main election issue during the campaign.

He said power crisis in the state capital had made the lives of the people miserable and it would prove as an added advantage for the party in the byelection.

'' The Congress will seek votes on the clean image of party president Sonia Gandhi,'' he added.

The LJP is also expected to support the Congress candidate, he claimed.
