Advani appeals to Muslims to come around with Hindus on Ram Temple

Rajkot, Gujarat, Apr 6 (UNI) BJP leader L K Advani today started his 6000-km-long Bharat Suraksha Yatra, with a call to the nation to shun ''political forces which compromised with terrorists and divisive forces for the sake of vote-bank politics.'' Mr Advani later appealed to the Muslim community to take the emotions and beliefs of crores of Hindus into consideration and offer their support to take initiatives to find a consensual solution for building a grand Ram Mandir at Ayodhya.

Kickstarting the Bharat Suraksha Yatra, Mr Advani said a makeshift temple was already existing in Ayodhya and the building of this temple will be a reality, if Muslims come forward with the initiative to resolve the vexed Ram temple issue. Incidentally, his appeal comes on Ram Navmi Day, the chosen day for starting his 33rd Bharat Suraksha Yatra.

Mr Advani said he would not blame the present day generation for the repeated invasions on Somnath temple by Ghazni, a thousand years ago.

Answering to the VHP charges accusing Mr Advani for doing nothing to build the Ram temple when the NDA was in power for six long years. Mr Advani said there was no consensus among NDA allies on the building of the temple, but they agreed for the construction of the temple through talks between the two contendng communities or through a judicial verdict.

He also said since the BJP did not have adequate number of members in Parliament, they were not able to bring about the construction through a legislation by the Parliament or the UP Legislative Assembly.
