About three lakh looted from PNB

Gaya, Apr 27 (UNI) Criminals looted Rs 2.95 lakh from Nai Bazar branch of Punjab National Bank (PNB) under Khijarsarai police station in the district today.

Police Superintendent A K Jain said six people barged into the branch and looted the money from cash counters on gun point and managed to escape on their motorcycles.

Search operation has been launched to nab the criminals.

Ahmedabad, Apr 7 (UNI) With the arrest of four youth from Meghanigar locality here, the police today claimed they have solved the sensational murder case of Rishideep, son of excise officer R P Singh, within twenty-four hours. Seventeen-year-old Rishideep's body was found abandoned in the old court compound yesterday morning. A clutch wire used to strangulate him was also found lying next to the body. Guj Governor, CM pay homage to Ramachandra Upadhyaya

Surat, Apr 7 (UNI) Gujarat Governor Naval Kishore Sharma and Chief Minister Narendra Modi today paid homage to veteran freedom fighter Ramachandra Dinakar Upadhyaya, an official release said. Upadhyaya died due to old age at his residence here yesterday. He took active part in the freedom movement and was imprisoned in 1942 during the Quit India movement. A staunch Gandhian leader, he was a close associate of Mahathma Gandhi, Vinobh Bhave and Jugat Dham Dave......

Twenty-one take ill in Palanpur

Palanpur, Apr 7 (UNI) At least 21 people, including 7 women and 3 children, of the Selempura localty here were admitted to civil hospital after they took ill due to some unidentified viral fever since Thursday evening. Sevoke (Siliguri), Apr 7 (UNI) One person died and 10 others were injured critically in a car-van collision here this evening. The victim, Pradipto Burman(40), a resident of Hyderpara of Siliguri was the driver of the car. All the injured have been admitted into a local hospital, sources added. No corporatisation of RCF: Railway Board

Kapurthala, Apr 7 (UNI) The Railway Board has decided to drop the proposal of corporatisation of Rail Coach Factory (RCF) here, said senior railway officials here today. Railway Board Additional Member Staff Dr S C Manchanda and Additional Member Production Partap Srivastva told media persons that the Railway Board would issue a clarification letter as demanded by the union leaders within next few days.
