43 huts gutted in fire

Chandigarh, Apr 7 (UNI) Atleast 43 huts were gutted in a fire that broke out at Labour Colony on Jail Road here this afternoon, fire officials said.

Mangal Chand, Sub-Fire Officer said that three fire tenders were pressed into service and took almost three hours to douse the fire.

He said that loss of property and cause of the fire could not be ascertained.

Warangal, Andhra Pradesh, Apr 7 (UNI) Three naxalites, including two women Dalam members of the CPI (Maoist) were killed in an encounter with the police near the forest area of Tadwai mandal in this district this evening. Police said the naxals opened fire at the policemen who were conducting a combing operation in the forest. The police returned the fire killing three naxals on the spot. Jammu, Apr 7 (UNI) The security forces, based on information from inteligence agencies, recovered a cache of arms and ammunition from Kalai, eight Km north west of Poonch district today. According to official sources, security personnel recovered a cache in a small drain wrapped in a plastic package which included 111 rounds AK ammunition, three AK magazines, 25 rounds pika ammunition, 2.5 Kg RDX, one improvised explossive device (IED) switch, 14 detonators, one UBGL Grenade.....
