3i Infotech implements Insurance Software at Oriental

Mumbai, Apr 7 (UNI) 3i Infotech Ltd has successfully completed the roll-out of the Integrated Insurance Management solution at 192 offices of Oriental Insurance Company Ltd.

Announcing this, the company's press release said that the roll-out in 412 offices constitute the phase I of the mplementation, before taking up implementation across other branches of Oriental Insurance.

With the completion of the roll out at 192 offices, Integrated Non-Life Insurance Application Solution (INLIAS) as the project is referred to, has provided Oriental Insurance seamless integration across its operations, ensuring easy access to information and efficient customer service.

After complete roll-out across all its offices, Oriental Insurance, which has an annual turnover of over Rs 36,000 million (US$ 800 million) will benefit from operational efficiencies, automated reporting at divisional and regional levels and effective management information systems for top management decision-making.

The company has customized its standard insurance Premia software product to develop the INLIAS software for Oriental insurance.

The deployment of INLIAS is part of Oriental Insurance's initiative to become India's premier general insurance Company, built upon well-knit integrated business systems. Oriental Insurance currently has 21 regional offices, 310 divisional offices, 583 branches and 55 extension counters across the country.

3i Infotech, deputy managing director, Hari Padmanabhan, said, ''Oriental Insurance is a customer-focused organization and its current technology initiative is an indication of its commitment to its existing and prospective customers. NCDEX records trade worth Rs 3,833 cr

Mumbai, Apr 7 (UNI) As many as 552 members of the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchanges (NCDEX) participated in trading worth Rs 3,833 crore (one way) upto 1700 hrs today. There were 90,530 trades put through by them. Active trades were high in guarseeds, chana, refined soy oil, silver, gold and urad, a NCDEX release said. Call rates and bond prices close lower

Mumbai, Apr 7 (UNI) Call rates closed lower in the range of 5.50-5.70 per cent as compared to the last close of 5.60-5.80 per cent as the liquidity problems seemed to be getting over. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) absorbed Rs 32,715 crore through daily reverse-repo auctions from the money market, while it did not inject any money in the market. In the first three-day reverse repo-auction, RBI absorbed Rs 6,020 crore through 13.....

Suspension of work declared in Panighata Tea garden

Siliguri, Apr 7 (UNI) Management of Panighata Tea Garden under Naxalbari police station area in Darjeeling district declared suspension of work from yesterday rendering 1200 workers jobless. Financial constraints led to the closure of the gardens. Darjeeling district Chia Kaman Mazdoor Union general secretary Gautam Ghosh said the workers saw the notice on the gate when they went for work yesterday. The workers alleged that they could not get the salary for last two.....
