15 candidates file nomination papers

Bhopal, Apr 7 (UNI) Fifteen candidates, including Congress' Rajkumar Patel, filed nomination paper for the by-election to Budhni assembly constituency on the last day today.

With this a total of 18 candidates, including BJP leader and Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, have filed nomination paper for the by-election to the constituency.

State Congress President Subhash Yadav, Union Minister Kantilal Bhuria and senior legislator and former Minister Ajay Singh were present.

Besides, SP's Narmada Prasad and BSP's Taukir Azmi filed nomination paper today. Other candidates are independent.

Scrutiny of nomination paper will be carried out tomorrow, while names can be withdrawn up to April 10. The by-election will take place on April 24, while the results will be declared on April 27.

About three lakh looted from PNB

Gaya, Apr 27 (UNI) Criminals looted Rs 2.95 lakh from Nai Bazar branch of Punjab National Bank (PNB) under Khijarsarai police station in the district today. Police Superintendent A K Jain said six people barged into the branch and looted the money from cash counters on gun point and managed to escape on their motorcycles. Four youths nabbed for murder of Excise officer's son

Ahmedabad, Apr 7 (UNI) With the arrest of four youth from Meghanigar locality here, the police today claimed they have solved the sensational murder case of Rishideep, son of excise officer R P Singh, within twenty-four hours. Seventeen-year-old Rishideep's body was found abandoned in the old court compound yesterday morning. A clutch wire used to strangulate him was also found lying next to the body. Deputy Superintendent of Police (Zone Four) P N Patel told reporters.....

Guj Governor, CM pay homage to Ramachandra Upadhyaya

Surat, Apr 7 (UNI) Gujarat Governor Naval Kishore Sharma and Chief Minister Narendra Modi today paid homage to veteran freedom fighter Ramachandra Dinakar Upadhyaya, an official release said. Upadhyaya died due to old age at his residence here yesterday. He took active part in the freedom movement and was imprisoned in 1942 during the Quit India movement. A staunch Gandhian leader, he was a close associate of Mahathma Gandhi, Vinobh Bhave and Jugat Dham Dave......
