Youth should follow ideals of veteran Congress leaders:Deshmukh

Thane, Apr 6 (UNI) Senior Congress leader Vilasrao Deshmukh today asked the young party activists to follow the ideals of great Congress leaders like Sonia Gandhi and strive to make the party strong.

Addressing a rally organised by the Youth Congress here this evening, Mr Deshmukh who is also Maharashtra Chief Minister, said that the youth of the country should take to constructive work within the Congress and make it a household name. They should contribute their might by working for the growth of the party.

He was the chief guest at the function organised by the youth wing of Congress to welcome the 'Parivartan Yatra' here.

In his speech, Mr Deshmukh had a dig at BJP leader L K Advani's 'Bharat Suraksha Yatra' and said that nothing could be achieved by his yatra.

EC shuts case on Sonia

New Delhi, Apr 6 (UNI) The Election Commission is understood to have closed the case against Congress president Sonia Gandhi on the 'Office of Profit' issue. The Commission which is examining the case of 16 MPs including Mrs Gandhi has taken the decision to shut the case as it deems no meaning to proceed with, since Mrs Gandhi has resigned her Lok Sabha seat. Burkina culls fowl as flu test delays worry Africa
