Six killed in truck-car collision at Chandrapur

Nagpur, Mar 25 (UNI) Six people were killed on the spot and two others seriously injured when a speeding van collided against a truck coming from the opposite direction between Ghantachouki and Valni village in Chandrapur district last night, according to a report reaching here today.

All the deceased, who were the occupants of the van, were returning from Mul to Chandrapur, the report said, adding, the injured have been admitted to a nearby hospital.

The truck driver who fled from the scene is still absconding, the report added.

Opp demands resignation of 7 MLAs holding office of profit

Imphal, Mar 25 (UNI) Opposition parties in Manipur have demanded resignation of seven MLAs of the ruling Congress for holding office of profit. 25 Cong MLAs offer to resign

Bhopal, Mar 25(UNI) About 25 Congress MLAs from Madhya Pradesh today offered to resign to express their solidarity with party chief Sonia Gandhi on the office of profit issue, party sources said. The legislators met Ms Gandhi in New Delhi today. Ms Gandhi, who rejected their offer, however, asked them to work for strengthening the party, according to a party MLA Indrajit Kumar Patel.
