Satiating hunger turns deadly

Robertsganj, Mar 25: The quest to satiate hunger turned deadly for two minor girls, who were charred to death in a fire burnt to prepare a cherished treat in Akchor village of Sonebhadra district.

Police said here yesterday that four children in a quest to satiate their hunger last evening, found a dead bird in the forest.

They later ignited a heap of husk to roast the prized catch, but the resultant fire powered by strong wind, caught the the hutment of the children.

While two boys, escaped unhurt, Malti (3) and Shanti (2) were charred to death by the inferno, police added.

Bulgaria to seal deal on military bases with US

SOFIA, Mar 25 (Reuters) NATO newcomer Bulgaria and the United States have agreed to establish three US military bases in the Black Sea state, officials from both countries said, despite polls showing widespread public opposition.
