NTPC nods 550 mw plant at Korba

Mumbai, Mar 25 (UNI) National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) has given the investment approval for setting up a 500 mw unit at its Korba super thermal power project at an estimated cost of Rs 2,448.49 crore.

The decision was taken in a board meeting of the power major held yesterday, the company informed BSE.

Imphal, Mar 25 (UNI) An encounter took place today at Baruni Hills, in Imphal east between combined force of the Police, Assam Rifles and suspected militants at Baruni Hills here. Police said a police team led by a senior DIG of Manipur Police along with Assam Rifles personnel launched an operation in the area after a brief encounter between the police and the militants. Two militants surrender

Baramulla, Mar 25 (UNI) Two Kashmiri militants surrendered before security forces immediately after crossing over to this side in Uri sector, official sources said. Police arrests 119 tribals in connection with Adhunik Metalic attack

Rourkela, Mar 25 (UNI) Biramitrapur Police have arrested 119 people, including 32 women, in connection with yesterday's attack on Adhunik Mettalic Complex led by Kuarmunda Anchalik Surekha Committee of the tribals. The tribals, led by former BJD MLA George Tirkey, forced their entry into the plant and went on a rampage, damaging the assets and attacking the officials.
