Kainth demands debate in Parliament on profit posts issue

Phagwara, Mar 25 (UNI) Bahujan Samaj Morcha President Satnam Singh Kainth today demanded a special session of Parliament to discuss the burning issue of ''office of profit.'' Addressing a news conference before presiding over a workers conference here this afternoon, he said that Congress President Sonia Gandhi has initiated a new debate by resigning as a Lok Sabha member and Chairperson of the National Advisory Council.

He said beneficiaries of all political parties should follow Mrs Gandhi and resign from their respective posts.

Mr Kainth strongly criticised the Union Government's decision through a bill passed in parliament to abolish SC quota in Minorities run but Government aided professional institutions. He described the decision as ''anti-Dalits''.

Commenting on Punjab, BSM President said his party will become a big political power in coming days as majority of dalits and weaker sections were coming under the banner of the morcha.

He said that more than 70 assembly segments had been identified, where the BSM had sufficient political influence.
