Jammu, Mar 25: The Panun Kashmir Movement (PKM) has expressed serious concern over the statement from various quarters regarding the 'settlement' of the Kashmir tangle.
Panun Kashmir Movement (PKM) president Ashwini Kumar Chrungoo while addrssing a press conference here today said, the statement of Prime Minister Dr Mamohan Singh on self-rule and autonomy appears to have been made in haste.
''PM's statement concerning self-rule and autonomy 'within the vast flexibilities of the Indian Constitution' tends to give credence to a foreign-inspired demand, which will have fatal consequences of reviving and encouraging the ill effects of two nation-theory again within the secular and democratic India,'' he reiterated.
The PKM chief further said, the Indian government had rejected the demand of autonomy earlier on the dictum that the 'clock cannot be put back' and the revival the demand now throws up new question about the Kashmir policy of central government.
''While the state of Pakistan is making all attempts to black-mail India in the name of peace and it is, at the same time, allowing terrorist camps to exist and run their activities on its soil,'' he added.
He said the Kashmiri Pandits, having a right on the territory of Kashmir, have also the right to know the reasons, which have prompted the government of India to change its stand on Kashmir, which may also be prejudiced to the sovereignty and integrity of India.
Rejecting the proposals of demilitarisation, he said there should be a free flow of Indian Constitution in the valley and the Indian sovereignty must not be diluted.
''No sovereign nation can be dictated by an alien power on Kashmir issue and it is the prerogative of the sovereign nation to deploy its security forces as it deems correct, Mr Chrungoo said.
