Daler Mehndi meets Sonia, urges her to withdraw resignation

New Delhi, Mar 25 (UNI) The "King of Punjabi pop" Daler Mehndi has joined the chorus of personalities who have urged Congress president Sonia Gandhi to take back her resignation.

The singer, who met Mrs Gandhi at her 10, Janpath residence yesterday, said that while her resignation had upheld her sense of morality, it had, at the same time, shocked the common people of the country.

Accompanying Daler was the chairman of the All India Muslim Youth committee Mohd Shakeel Saifi.

Also present on the occasion were Delhi Pradesh Youth Congress Secretary Mohd Wasim Saifi and chairman of the Maharashtra Congress committee (minority cell), M M Shaikh.
