Christians safe in Pakistan,says Pakistan Bible Society Gen Secy

New Delhi, Mar 25 (UNI) Pakistan is the only Islamic country which provides constitutional rights to minorities to worship in their own style, according to Rev. Dr Anthony Lamuel, General Secretary, Pakistan Bible Society.

Christians are well respected in Pakistan and the President also is keen to protect Christians, he said while replying to felicitations at a reception accorded to him last night by theBible Society of India and the New Delhi YMCA.

"Many Christians are in civil service and armed services and there is hardly any discrimination against them," he said. However, there are problems in some rural areas where illiterate people are influenced by fundamentalists, he said.

Karnataka to double tourism allocation

Fishermen clash with police, assault officials

Visakhapatnam, Mar 25 (UNI) Two officilas including a sub-inspector weree seriously injured in a clash following lathicharge on agitated fishermen.
