Central Force arrives in Purulia

Purulia, Mar 25 (UNI) Ten 10 companies of Central Security Force have arrived in the Naxal-dominated Purulia district of West Bengal ahead of the start of the election process.

District Magistrate of Purulia Mukul Sarkar said today, that the units arrived yesterday and ten more companies will arrive within April 5.

Filing of nomination for 45 seats of Purulia, Bankura and West Midnapore district began yesterday. Election in these Naxal dominated areas has been scheduled on April 17.

Bangalore, Mar 25 (UNI) Hot favourite Darius Byramji's ward "Money With Talent" ridden by Ryan Marshall won the Agumbe trophy the main event of Bangalore Winter Meeting here today. The winner was joint property of M/s Ashok Ranpise, Mahesh Patel and Darius R Byramji. Trainer Arjun Mangalorkar had a treble while Jockey Gallaghar saddled a double. Minor gang-raped in Aurangabad; five arrested, two absconding

Aurangabad, Mar 25 (UNI) A 14-year-old girl was allegedly gang-raped near the Salim Ali lake here, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Sudhir Dabhade said. He said the incident occurred around 1930 hrs last evening when the girl had gone to the lake along with her boy friend. While her boy friend went to buy an ice-cream, a gang of seven youth took her forcibly to a deserted place where two of them raped her while the others.....

Man gets 5 year RI for raping a 23 year-old

New Delhi, Mar 25 (UNI) A city court today sentenced a 30 year-old-man to five years rigorous imprisonment for raping a woman in the Badarpur 'jhuggi' area two years ago. Patiala House Court Additional Sessions Judge (ASJ) S P Garg, held Karan guilty of raping the 23 year-old and sentenced him to five years imprisonment.
