AP House adopts eight bills

Hyderabad, Mar 25 (UNI) Amidst slogan-shouting by the main opposition Telugu Desam Party, the Andhra Pradesh Assembly tonight adopted the bill to amend the state mutually aided Cooperative Societies act, 1995 to restore the 1964 act and reintroduce the Anand pattern of three tier structure.

Even as the TDP members rose to register their protest, panel Speaker B Veda Vyas put the bill as also the clauses to vote and they were adopted by voice vote.

As the panel Speaker did not allow them to register their protest, all the TDP members walked out of the house.

Earlier, during the discussion on the bill, Congress member G Venkat Reddy made an allegation against TDP leader D Narendrakumar and the latter while countering it, made ''wide allegations'' against Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy who was not in the House. The remarks were expunged from records by the Panel Speaker as requested by Legislative Affairs Minister K Rosaiah.

The house adopted the bill to regulate quality of aquaculture seed as also the ones to create three new universities and amend the Panchayatraj Act, 1994, Fire service act 1999, State Public Examinations(prevention of malpractices and unfair means) act, 1997 the state Rural Electric Cooperative Societies(temporary provisions)act, 1988 and the state Advocates welfare act.

Army kills 14 Kurdish rebels in eastern Turkey
