27 people feared killed in road accident

Motihari, Bihar, Mar 25 (UNI) At least 27 people were feared killed and five others were seriously injured when a bus veered off the National Highway 28 and fell into a ditch near Amodei village under Ramgarhwa police station area in East Champaran district today.

District Magistrate Prem Singh Meena said here that the bus was en route to an eye hospital in Lahan town of Nepal from Siwan when the mishap took place.

He said the bus fell into the 40 feet ditch when the driver lost control.

He said three bodies had been extricated from the debris so far.

46 people injured as bus falls into gorge in HP

Shimla, Mar 25 (UNI) Forty-six people were injured, seven of them seriously, when a private bus they were travelling in fell into a gorge at Badiyaar in Rohru area of Shimla district early today, police said. The accident occurred at about 0830 hrs after the bus, carrying 46 passengers, fell into the gorge. Police said the bus had developed a mechanical fault and despite best efforts by the driver, he failed to negotiate the curve......

Veteran freedom fighter Manibhai Parekh passes away

Surat, Mar 25 (UNI) Veteran freedom fighter Manibhai Durlabh Bhai Parekh died at Bardoli in Surat District yesterday. He was 93. A close associate of Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel, the freedom fighter had suffered imprisonment for three years in the Lahore prison during the freedom movement.
