Vigilance committee to ensure presence of doctors in hospitals

Patna, Mar 10 (UNI) The Bihar government is set to constitute vigilance committees to ensure presence of doctors in hospitals.

Health Minister Chandrika Rai announced in the state Assembly that vigilance committees would be formed at block and district levels to ensure presence of doctors in hospitals. He said modalities in this regard would be finalised soon.

Earlier members had suggested for constitution of committees to prevent doctors from remaining absent from the hospitals during their duty period.

RJD member Jagdanand Singh said rural people were still deprived of basic health facilities despite crores of rupees being spent in health sector annually.

Mr Singh expressed concern over the issue and suggested that committees be constituted under the chairmanship of MLAs to monitor the presence of doctors in hospitals in their respective areas.

Motorcyclist killed in accident

Pratapgarh, Mar 10 (UNI) A motorcyclist was killed and the pillion rider grievously injured after they were hit by a speeding car under Antu area here this morning. According to police, motorcycle rider Rajendra Yadav (25) died on the spot and critically injured Pushpa was later taken to Allahabad for medical treatment. Haryana govt for implementation of Citizen's Charter

Chandigarh, Mar 10 (UNI) The Haryana government has directed the heads of all departments to accelerate the process of formulation and effective implementation of Citizens's Charter in order to provide information about the services provided by their department to the citizens of the state. A spokesman of the Administrative Reforms department here today said that Citizen's Charter is a document, which lists the services provided by the organization to the citizens and the procedure.....

Student body recovered, search continues for another

Vijayawada, Mar 10 (UNI) The body of a student who was washed away in the gushing waters of Bandar Canal yesterday was recovered near the American Hospital in the city today. Police said the body of Vijay Kumar (18) was sent to the University Government hospital for post-mortem. Search operation was on to trace the body of Vajral Varun Sai, who was also swept away.
