Ten pilgrims killed in road mishap

Mandya, Karnataka, Mar 10 (UNI) At least ten pilgrims were killed and 50 others seriously injured when a lorry in which they were travelling overturned and fell into a ditch between Halaguru and Mutthathi highway in this district today.

Police sources said the mishap occurred when the lorry, carrying more than 70 people from Chikkakalkuni village in Mysore district, was proceeding to Mutthathi village, for a religious function.

The injured were admitted to hospitals in Malavalli and Mandya.

Superintendent of Police Sridhar and other police officials rushed to the spot.
