Syndicate Bank signs MoU with CMC on Management education

Bangalore, Mar 10 (UNI) Public Sector Syndicate Bank today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Computer Maintenance Corporation of India Limited to make Syndicate Institute of Bank Management at Manipal, a centre of excellence of global standards and provide quality management education.

Speaking to newspersons here after signing the MoU, Bank Chairman and Managing Director N Kantha Kumar said the bank had sought expression of interest from reputed management and IT institutes in the country for associating them in imparting training in various fields such as marketing, human resources, management, communication and financial management.

CMC had extensive domain expertise in industrial practices, including banking and finance, besides providing banking solutions and a wide range of education and training services. Through the collaboration, SiBM and CMC would be able to offer relevant training programmes to address various training needs of the banking and finance industry both in India and abroad, he said.

CMC Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director R Ramanan spelt out the growth strategy focusing on capitalising his company's unique skillsets. The move by the bank was a strategic and pioneering initiative to provide world class capability to ensure quality training programmes, he felt.

As per the MoU, the Bank would provide infrastructural facilities at SiBM and training centres located at different parts of the country, besides offering services of the faculty for imparting training to personnel from other commercial banks and financial institutions. CMC would provide additional faculty support and its expertise in course design and training content by developing appropriate learning aids and software.

Hearing in BSP rebel MLAs' case tomorrow

Lucknow, Mar 10 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh assembly Speaker Mata Prasad Pandey will commence hearing in the crucial BSP rebel MLAs case from tomorrow. The case assumes significance as a February 28 verdict of the Allahabad High Court had quashed the Speaker's orders recognising the merger of 40 BSP MLAs into the ruling Samajwadi Party in September, 2003.
