Six killed, 38 injured in bus accident

Jammu, Mar 10 (UNI) At least six people were killed, including three women, and around 38 others injured, 11 of them are seriously, when a bus plunged into a deep gorge at Magar Gad near Sharkhd Kolibar in Kathua today.

According to police sources, the accident occurred this morning when the driver of the bus, on way from Jammu to Kathua, lost control while overtaking a vehicle. The bus rolled down into a gorge.

Four passengers were killed on the spot while two died in the hospital. 11 seriously injured persons were shifted to government hospital in Jammu and 27 were in government hospital at Kathua.

All the dead bodies were recovered and identified as Joginder Singh, Shamu Din, Mohan Singh, Kulwant Singh, Sanura, Rakhi and Poonam Devi.
