Sabeer Bhatia announces patnership with KPIT Cummins

Pune, Mar 10 (UNI) KPIT Cummins, Pune, and Sabeer Bhatia, co-creator of Hotmail. Com, today announced a long-term partnership in developing next generation products in the next two-three years.

At a press conference here today, Bhatia, who refused to divulge details of future projects, said that he will be the working with KPIT Cummins as a strategic partner as ''KPIT has demonstrated superior technology development and project management skills in delivering the complex architectural requirements of the recently launched BlogEverywhere in record time.'' It is once again a validation of India's technology strengths , once the monopoly of hi-tech Silicon Valley, KPIT Cummins Product Engineering team's insatiable desire to attain excellence has given us great confidence in buiding path breaking web solutions'', Bhatia said.

Mr Ravi Pandit,Chairman and Group CEO, KPIT Cummins Infosystems Ltd, said that BlogEverywhere will change mass communications with many communicating with many. It is an easy way of expressing.

BolgEverywhere is a venture of Sabeer Bhatia and Shiraz Kanga to promote simple, universal and contextual blogging. BlogEverywhere will make it easier for everyone to add to their own comments to any web page as they are surfing the web, it also provides users with a variety of search engines. About 250 million users of hotmail will have this tool bar that will give them, a mechanism to influence opinions, Bhatia said.

When asked about revenue, Bhatia said it was too early. ''Atleast for two years we are not expecting much. In the first year if we have one million downloads its promising but if its five million, then it is good and more than ten million then we are quite through.

Nearly 15 million dollars have been invested in the project and in time revenue will be raised through advertisements.

The issue is to promote blogging and we are starting with blogging contests to popularize it'', Bhatia said.

U S Radio Liberty reporters arrested in Turkmenistan

ASHGABAT, Mar 10 (Reuters) U S-funded broadcaster Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty said today two of its local reporters working in the authoritarian Central Asian country of Turkmenistan had been arrested and taken to unknown locations.
