Rs 6.75 cr for improvement of Rajahmundry Central prison

Hyderabad, Mar 10 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Home Minister K Jana Reddy today said the government had sanctioned Rs 6.75 crore for repairs, renovation and extensions to the Remand block of the Rajahmundry Central Prison in East Godavari district under the Perspective Plan on Prison Refors and Quarters scheme.

Replying to a question by R Suryaprakasa Rao (Congress), he said the government had also sanctioned Rs 2.57 crore for construction of quarters.

Replying to supplementaries on prison reforms, the Minister said the government had already conducted video conferencing to avoid the risk involved in transporting undertrial prisoners to the courts.

Unseasonal rain claims 14 lives in M'wada in past eight days

Aurangabad, Maharashtra, Mar 10 (UNI) As many as 14 people have died and eight others injured while standing crops worth Rs nine crore have been destroyed on 25,000 hectares of land in Marathwada in the past eight days due to unseasonal rains in Central Maharashtra. Bihar government attacks previous Deve Godwa government

Patna, Mar 10 (UNI) The Bihar government today accused the previous H D Deve Gowda government of signing an agreement with Bangladesh on division of water of Ganga river without seeking the state's views on the issue. India, China hold border talks tomorrrow
