RBI extends PMNRF to nine more banks

Mumbai, Mar 10 (UNI) Apart from the existing 12 banks, nine more have been designated for the purpose of collecting contributions to the Prime Minister's National Relief Fund (PMNRF).

The funds so received should be deposited with Central Bank of India, 70 Janpath Branch, New Delhi, as per the earlier guidelines, an RBI release said.

The nine new branches banks are Canara Bank, DDU Marg, New Delhi, UCO Bank, 5, Parliament Street, New Delhi, Bank of Baroda, 16, Parliament Street, New Delhi, HDFC Bank, B-6/3, Safdarjung Enclave, DDA Commercial Complex, New Delhi, Standard Chartered Bank, H-2, Connaught Circus, New Delhi, HSBC Bank, JMD Regent Square, DLF Phase-II, Gurgaon Mehrauli Road, Gurgaon-122 002, UTI Bank, New Delhi Main Branch, Statesman House, 148, Barakhamba Road, New Delhi, Vijaya Bank, Vijaya Building, 17, Barakhamba Road Branch, New Delhi-1 and ICICI Bank, 13, Community Centre, New Friends Colony, New Delhi.

Four injured in road accident

Cuddalore, Mar 10 (UNI) Four persons including Suba Elavarasan founder of the banned local extremist outfit Tamils Liberation Movement, were injured in a road accident when a police escort vehicle rammed into another police vehicle, at Silambi Mangalam village near Chidambaram here today. Police said Suba Elavarasan was brought to Additional Sessions Court at Chidambaram in connection with a murder case from Chennai, and the mishap occurred while he was taken back to Chennai after.....

Export norms for export of antler shavings relaxed

New Delhi, Mar 10 (UNI) Government has relaxed norms governing export of shavings of shed antlers of Chital and Sambhar, allowing despatch of free trade samples of these articles. The condition has been relaxed for two months, according to a notification. ''Registered exporters of shed antlers would be permitted to send free trade samples of made up of shed antlers, each weighing not more than five Kg. to the foreign buyers, subject to the condition.....

Bazaz calls for concrete proposals at Pugwash meet

Srinagar, Mar 10: Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Forum (JKDF) Chairman Pandit Bhushan Bazaz today (Mar 10, 2006) asked the participants of the international conference in Islamabad to put forth a concrete proposal to resolve the vexed issue which would be acceptable to all the parties concerned - India, Pakistan and the people of the state. The three-day conference is organised by Pugwash, a European Nobel prize winning think-tank engaged in finding solution to contentious issues in South Asia, at Islamabad.....
