Raids conducted on finance company in AP

Vijayawada, Mar 10 (UNI) Police and revenue officials raided branches of a finance company midnight last night, following a complaint lodged by women's self-help group (SHG).

Police sources told UNI here today, the women alleged the company was charging exorbitant interest on loans given to them.

They said criminal action would be initiated if the company was found collecting huge interest.

Records of the company were seized and some of the branches sealed by the revenue officials.

Deadly bird flu not in US yet - Report

Washington, Mar 10: The H5N1 avian flu virus has not yet made its way to North America, although many experts believe it will, US government researchers said.Eight months worth of sampling migratory birds has turned up no evidence of the dangerous H5N1 strain, the team at the U.S. Geological Survey's National Wildlife Health Centre said yesterday.The team has been sampling migratory waterfowl, considered to be the most likely carriers of influenza viruses from east Asia across to western North America, notably Alaska.....
