Prisoner dies of heart attack

Chennai, Mar 10 (UNI) A prisoner undergoing life sentence at the Central Prison here died of heart attack yesterday, police said today.

Police said Siva alias Kundu Siva (38) of Korattur was sentenced to life in connection with a murder case in 2003.

He was taken to the Government Royapettah Hospital and after treatment he was brought back to the prison.

When Siva complained of chest pain again yesterday, he was taken back to the hospital where the doctors declared him as brought dead.

Water supply scheme draws criticism from opposition

Aizawl, Mar 10 (UNI) The much-awaited Greater Aizawl Water Supply Scheme (AGWSS) phase II resurfaced in the House today with opposition MLAs wanting to know how long the people of Aizawl have to wait for the completion of the decade-long project. ''The Greater Aizawl Water Supply Scheme is supposed to be completed by 2006. However, it has not been completed as of now'', Public Health Engineering minister Tawnluia said.
