Parthiv Patel to lead Gujarat Ranji team

Ahmedabad, Mar 10 (UNI) Test discard Parthiv Patel will lead Gujarat to play the Ranji Trophy knockout matches to be played from March 14 at Kanpur.

Other members of the team are Akash Christian, Azhar Bilakhia, Vivek Parikh, Bhavik Thaker, Dilip Hadiyol, Hemal Watekar, Kirat Damani, Siddharth Trivedi, Amit Singh, Ashraf Makda, Pallav Vora, Anant Brahmbhatt, Vipul Patel and Mohnish Parmar, a Gujarat Cricket Association statement here said.

The team today left for Kanpur, along with chief coach Anshuman Gaekwad and manager Sanat Jani.

Muslim clerics demand Danish apology to end boycott

COPENHAGEN, Mar 10 (Reuters) Only an official apology by the Danish government to all Muslims for offence caused by the Prophet Mohammad cartoons will prompt the lifting of the boycott of Danish goods, Muslim preachers today said. An official apology ''is absolutely necessary ... because your government has not dealt with them (Muslims) respectfully,'' Islamic scholar Tareq al-Suweidan told a conference hosted by the government in an attempt to ease tension over the drawings......
