One dead, 13 injured in Kullu bridge collapse

Kullu, Mar 10 (UNI) At least one labourer was killed and 13 injured, five of them seriously, after an under construction bridge over Sarvari river collapsed in Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh last evening, police and official sources said today.

Over 40 labourers were working underneath the bridge when it collapsed at about 1820 hrs. Official sources said one person was killed and 13 injured in the incident.

The sources said the injured, identified as Kushhal Chand, Chunni Lal, Rakhtu Ram, Mohammad Jaffer, Chaman, Ruma, Madan, Sher Singh, Yadrahoo, Karam Singh, Mohan Lal and Suresh Dhiman, have been admitted to a local hospital here, while the dead was yet to be identified.

The cause of the accident was not yet known and investigations were on to ascertain the reason, police said, adding that a case has been registered.

ORSAC to study coastal zone in Orissa

Bhubaneswar, Mar 10 (UNI) The Orissa Remote Sensing Application Centre (ORSAC) in collaboration with the Space Application Centre of Indian Space Research Organisation has undertaken a project to study the coastal zones. All India Junior tennis tourney starts tomorrow

Vijayawada, Mar 10 (UNI) The Seven-day All India Junior (Under-14) tennis tournament for boys and girls will be held at Indira Gandhi Municipal Corporation Stadium from tomorrow.
