Notification for Himachal's Rajya Sabha seat issued

Shimla, Mar 10 (UNI) The Election Commission today issued the notification for the Rajya Sabha seat from Himachal Pradesh falling vacant on April 2, State Chief Electrol Officer Prem Kumar said.

The last date for filing nomination papers for the seat would be March 17, he said.

The term of the present incumbent Kripal Parmar expires on April two.

Mr Kumar said the scrutiny of the nomination papers would be done on March 18 and the last date for withdrawal of the candidature would be March 20.

The election would be held on March 20 from 0900 hrs to 1600 hrs in the Vidhan Sabha complex, he added.
