New Public Relations policy in MP

Bhopal, Mar 10: Madhya Pradesh Public Relations Minister Narendra Singh Tomar said a new public relations policy will be formulated for welfare of small and medium-level newspapers and electronic media.

Replying to the debate in the Assembly on demands for grants by Public Relations department for 2006-07, Mr Tomar said a committee had been set up for the new policy.

He said the government wanted that large number of journalists are churned out from the state-based Makhanlal Chaturvedi Journalism University.

Besides, it wanted to bring out a publication from the Public Relations department for providing information about Madhya Pradesh.

A film based on historical incidents of the state is being made in this regard.

Later, the Assembly passed Rs 44.01 crore grants for the Public Relations department by a voice vote.

Dec 14 strike: CPI-M says avoid public transport

New Delhi, Dec 13: The CPI(M) today asked the countrymen to avoid travel on railways and other public transport tomorrow in view of its All-India General Strike to press for acceptance of the Left's 16-point charter of demands, including legislation to provide social security for the country's 370 million unorganised workers. Besides the four Left parties, other non-BJP, non-Congress parties including the SP, RJD, TDP, DMK and BSP will also support the strike, CPI(M)'s Lok.....
