National level teams to participate in volleyball tournament

Kanpur, Mar 10 (UNI) The fifth Prize money All India Volleyball Tournament will be organised from March 18 to 22 at Sports Stadium, Faizabad, Uttar Pradesh.

The tournament is being organised by the Sports Directorate of Uttar Pradesh and it was for the first time that the winning team would be given Rs one lakh, followed by Rs 50,000 and Rs 25,000 to second and third placed teams respectively.

Executive vice president, Volleyball Federation of India, Dr N D Sharma said here today international ranked players representing ONGC, Dehradun, H S I D C, Harayana, Punjab Police, Jallundhar, D S F Jallundhar, Indian Bank Chennai, U P Police, Central Command Signal Corps, Lucknow and Combined hostel, UP are participating.

Ganguly in Bengal one day squad against Punjab

Kolkata, Mar 10 (UNI) Deep Dasgupta will lead a 14-men strong Bengal side, that includes Sourav Ganguly and Rohan Gavaskar, in the All India Inter-State One-Day Limited Over Tournament (Knock-our Stage) tie to be played against Punjab at Kanpur on March 16. The team will leave Kolkata on March 13.
