Kidnapped Bihar student found in Bhopal

Bhopal, Mar 10 (UNI) A twelfth-standard Don Bosco School student, who was kidnapped from Patna two days back, was found unconscious by RPF personnel in a yard near Bhopal Railway Station's platform number one last night, an RPF officer said today.

''Abhishek Chandan was rushed to a private hospital and was stated to be out of danger but still unconscious. The victim's father K K Chaudhry, who works as a sub-inspector in Jharkhand's Chakradharpur, has been informed and will be here by evening. GRP has alerted Bihar Police and a team is also reaching here by evening,'' Commandant Sarika Mohan told UNI.

A school identity card was found in his pkket, she said.

''His wrists reveal slight wounds inflicted by stabbing weapons.

A city-resident relative rushed to the hospital,'' Ms Mohan added.

PREPAK to stop contract work

Imphal, Mar 10 (UNI) The cash-strapped rebel People's Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (PREPAK) decided not to participate in government contract work since it affected the cadres' morale. PREPAK, however, said it would complete the work it had already taken up. The organisation admitted financial crunch and problems in continuing the armed struggle leading to the decision to participate in contract work for the government. Enrich state coffer to meet people's aspirations, Apang

Itanagar, Mar 10 (UNI) Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Gegong Apang has emphasized on effective collection of revenue as well as resource mobilization to meet the aspirations and expectations of the people through a clean, responsive, accountable and transparent administration. Mr Apang warned of stern action against those responsible for revenue leakage. India enters pact with IAVI for AIDS control

New Delhi, Mar 10 (UNI) The government has entered into an agreement with International AIDS Vaccine Initiative (IAVI) for accelerating the efforts to develop a vaccine to counter HIV. Minister of state for health and family welfare Panabaka Lakshmi said in the rajya sabha today the National AIDS Research Institute in Pune had initiated phase one clinical trial of a vaccine candidate. Besides, the ICMR's Tuberculosis Research Centre in Chennai launched the second phase one.....
