Justice supports economic, social development: Joshi

New Delhi, Mar 10 (UNI) Delhi Lt Governor B L Joshi today said wholesome development of the country depended upon the opportunities people got to access justice.

''There is a need to make legal aid system accessible to ensure the proper dispensation of justice to the poor for access to law and justice supports economic and social development,'' Mr Joshi said in his address at the inauguration of the 24-hours Legal Aid Clinic of the Delhi Legal Service Authority.

He said improved system of Justice guaranteed poverty alleviation, economic development and rule of law.

Through its 28 Legal Aid and Advice Centres in several parts of the capital, the Delhi legal Services Authority is extending free legal aid and advice to the poor.

It is also trying to create legal awareness to provide safeguards and appropriate legal protection to the vulnerable sections.

LeT behind Varanasi blasts; Rs one lakh reward for leads
