House concerned over threats to MLA

Patna, Mar 10 (UNI) Members of Bihar assembly today voiced concern over the threat to life of JD(U) MLA Rama Nand Singh and demanded proper security cover for him.

Senior BJP member Bhola Singh raised the issue during zero hour and demanded immediate intervention from the Speaker in view of the seriousness of the matter.

RJD member Abdul Bari Siddiqui also expressed concern over the threats being given to the JD(U) MLA and demanded adequate security to him.

Energy Minister Bijendra Prasad Yadav informed the house that the MLA had talked to Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on the issue and the government had taken serious note of the issue. Mr Yadav assured the house that the state government would provide proper security to Mr Singh.

Banking service resumes after computer crash

Imphal, Mar 10 (UNI) Banking services in Manipur, badly affected since Wednesday following systems failure at the SBI main branch, was rectified this afternoon. State Bank of India officials said the computer system crashed at the main branch on M G Avenue here owing to which there was no financial transactions since March 8. Initial reports had said it would take another five to six days to rectify the error as no engineer was.....

Six people killed, 20 injured in bus accident

Aizwal, Mar 10 (UNI) Six people have died and 20 were injured this afternoon when a bus skidded off the road and fell into a 300-feet gorge in Dampui village. Kolkata, Mar 10 (UNI) Four Regional Rural Banks(RRBs), sponsored by Punjab National Bank in Bihar,have been amalgamated into a single Regional Rural Bank in the name of Madhya Bihar Gramin Bank with its Head Office at Patna. These four amalgamated RRBs are Bhojpur Rohtas Gramin Bank, Magadh Gramin Bank, Nalanda Gramin Bank and Patliputra Gramin Banks have altogether 407 branches in 11 districts of Bihar.
