Heavy overcast sky in Delhi, more rain expected

New Delhi, Mar 10 (UNI) Heavy overcast sky welcomed Delhiites this morning indicating possibilty of another spell of rain in the capital in the coming days.

The thick clouds hovering the skyline, accompanied by a cool breeze, brought coolness in the weather in Delhi, which has been experiencing scorching warm conditions since the beginning of February.

It was the third day in succession that Delhi witnessed a cloud cover which weathermen say, indicates possibily of another spell of rain.

On Wednesday, Delhi experienced a suddden burst of rainfall and hailstorms in the evening.

Weathermen say the thick clouds and coolness in the weather are direct off-shoot of an upper air cyclonic storm originitaing from areas in Rajasthan. This coupled with north-westerly winds resulted in a sharp drop in maximum temperature to 29.7 degrees Celsius yesterday from 34 degrees on Wednesday.

Though the cloud cover resulted in the slight increase in minimum temperature to 19 degrees Celsius, weathermen predict further drop in temperature to 18 degree Celsius tommorow.

The coolness in the temperature is expected to remain for the next few days indicating a cool weather on Holi which normally heralds the onset of summer.
