HC orders DGP to form spl team to probe retreat centre matter

Kochi, Mar 10 (UNI) The Kerala High Court today ordered the Director General of Police to constitute a special team headed by an IG of police to investigate various allegations against the Muringoor divine retreat centre.

Justice K Padmanabhan Nair directed the DGP to constitute a special team headed by IGP Vinson M Paul, who is now chairman and managing director of Kerala State Housing Construction Cooperative Society to probe the matter.

The Government initiated suo-motu proceedings on the basis of an anonymous complaint alleging that criminal acts and anti-social activities were taking place at Muringoor divine retreat centre.

An undertrial prisioner detained in district jail had complained that she was raped at the retreat centre.

1st stretch of Metro Project to become operational in 3 yrs

Rains see mercury plummeting in UP

Lucknow, Mar 10 (UNI) The light rainfall experienced at several places in Uttar Pradesh during the last 24 hrs saw mercury plummet by several notches today. The chilly and breezy weather also forced people revert to warm clothing.
