H R Pannu new Additional GM of ER

Kolkata, Mar 10(UNI) Mr Hari Singh Pannu took over as Additional General Manager of Eastern Railway yesterday.

An engineer, Mr.Pannu joined Indian Railways as a Special Class apprentice in 1968. He has worked in various capcities in Eastern and South Eastern Railways, DLW/Varanasi, RDSO/Lucknow and Railway Board.

Dehradun, Mar 10 (UNI) Yoga and pranayama basically improve immune system and could even help in fighting serious diseases like cancer and AIDS, according to Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev. Talking to the mediaperson here yesterday, the Yoga Guru said he plans to conduct an intensive study on AIDS and was hopeful that there was a posibility of AIDS prevention and management through Yoga. Cong starts collecting applns from aspirants

Pondicherry, Mar 10 (UNI) The Congress here today began collecting applications from aspirants to contest the May three and eight Assembly elections. The exercise will continue for the next five days. Agriculture Minister A Namasivayam was the first one to submit his application. Applications on behalf of Chief Minister N Rangasamy and Industries Minister M Chandragasu were among the 29 applications filed at the PCC office here till 1200 hrs today. The applications would be submitted.....

Mohali, Mar 10 (UNI) No play was possible between lunch and tea due to bad light on the second day of the second Test between India and England being played here at the PCA Stadium today. Umpires Darrel Hair and Simon Taufel inspected the conditions four times after the match was stopped at 1037 hrs.
