Four injured in blast in Gujarat town

Rajkot, Mar 10: Four persons were injured, two of them seriously, in a blast at a scrapyard in Bhawaninagar area, commonly known as Mafatiapara, near Halvad town in Surendrangar district.

They were injured by splinters that flew from an object, which after the blast appeared like a bomb or a teargas shell, police said.

The condition of Yaqoob and his son Haroon is said to be very critical. They were first rushed to the nearest Morbi hospital, from where they were later shifted to the Civil hospital.

Yaqoob's wife Fatimabibi and another person, Jinabhai Shankarbhai, who were also working at the scrapyard, escaped with minor injuries.

Bull run lifts Sensex by 191 pts to new closing high of 10,765

Rupee closes weaker at 44.49/50/USD

Mumbai, Mar 10 (UNI) The rupee today closed weaker at 44.49/50 per US dollar as against the close of 44.47/48, a dealer at the forex market here said. Earlier Rupee today opened weaker at 44.53/54, as against the last close of 44.47/48, the dealer added. The rupee traded in the range of 44.5150 to 44.54 in the mid-morning session. The Bombay Stock Exchange Sensitive Index today closed with a massive gain of 191 points at 10,765 points.....
