Forest staff uniform cloth to be purchased from APCO: Minister

Hyderabad, Mar 10 (UNI)Andhra Pradesh Minister for Forests and Environment Satrucharla Vijaya Rama Rao told the State Assembly today the government had decided to purchase the cloth required for the uniforms of forest personnel from the APCO to help handloom weavers.

Replying to a question by P Shankara Rao and E Prathapa Reddy of Congress during the Question Hour, he said earlier it was decided to purchase the cloth from the National Cooperative Consumer's Federation of India Limited. However the proposal was dropped due to some allegations.

Subsequently, the government decided to buy the footwear for the staff from the LIDCAP, in the cooperative sector.

He denied there were any irregularities in the purchase of cloth or shoes as reported in some section of the media. He said nothing was finalised as yet.

He said the government purchased Rs 1.25 crore worth cloth for the uniforms of the forest personnel.

Food wastage at Rs 58,000 cr a year due to lack of facilities

KIOCL signs MoU with NMDC and SAIL
