Diamond merchant robbed of Rs 1.95 lakh

Mumbai, Mar 10 (UNI) Three unidentified men looted a diamond merchant and decamped with belongings worth Rs 1.95 lakh at Rawalpada, Dahisar in western suburbs.

Police said that three unidentified persons approached Mansukhbhai Dobriya (32), near Gulfarm hotel, Dahisar, yesterday while he was on his way to deliver the goods to his customers.

The miscreants offered him 'Saibaba Prasad' laced with sedatives, following which, he fell unconcious. They, then fled with his diamonds, purse, gold chain and mobile phone of worth Rs 1,95,200.

Police has registered a case of robbery and further investigations are in progress.

Banking service in Manipur affected

PREPAK to stop contract work

Imphal, Mar 10 (UNI) The cash-strapped rebel People's Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (PREPAK) decided not to participate in government contract work since it affected the cadres' morale. PREPAK, however, said it would complete the work it had already taken up. The organisation admitted financial crunch and problems in continuing the armed struggle leading to the decision to participate in contract work for the government. Itanagar, Mar 10 (UNI) Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Gegong Apang has emphasized on effective collection of revenue as well as resource mobilization to meet the aspirations and expectations of the people through a clean, responsive, accountable and transparent administration.
