Communalism will never flourish in India:Fatehpuri Masjid

New Delhi, Mar 10 (UNI) Describing India as a "beautiful bouquet of colourful flowers", the Shahi Imam of the Fatehpuri Masjid, Mufti Mohammed Mukarram Ahmed today said that attempts by some sections to spread hatred amongst Indians would not succeed.

In his Friday speech, the Muslim scholar and educationist, condemning the blasts in Varanasi, said ''there are several religions in India and all religions when combined, convert our country into a beautiful bouquet of colourful flowers. We will not allow anybody to spoil it at any cost.'' Referring to Tuesday's blasts in Varanasi's Sankat Mochan Temple, Dr Ahmed said that ''such brutal attacks are a serious violation of religious sanctity of a place of worship which must be stopped.'' Stating that ''Indian citizens are always in favour of peace, love, brotherhood and communal harmony,'' he appealed to the public to maintain harmony and tolerance.

CBI to probe pvt of power distribution

Rain havoc kills 71 across country

New Delhi, Mar 10 (UNI) Rains lashed several parts of the country, killing 39 persons in Madhya Pradesh, 27 in Maharashtra and 5 in Rajasthan so far, with the most extensive damage having occurred in Madhya Pradesh. In Madhya Pradesh, downpours extensively damaged wheat, gram and lentil crop. New Delhi, Mar 10 (UNI) Delhi Lt Governor B L Joshi today said wholesome development of the country depended upon the opportunities people got to access justice. ''There is a need to make legal aid system accessible to ensure the proper dispensation of justice to the poor for access to law and justice supports economic and social development,'' Mr Joshi said in his address at the inauguration of the 24-hours Legal Aid Clinic.....
