CMC and WebEx form strategic alliance

Bangalore, Mar 10 (UNI) WebEx Communications India, the market leader in on-demand collaborative business solutions, and IT solutions provider CMC Limited have entered into a strategic alliance to expand the delivery of WebEx collaborative business solutions in the Indian market.

Under the agreement, CMC, a subsidiary of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), would market, sell and support WebEx solutions suite to its customers in India, a release from WebEx said today.

''WebEx has a proven track record in delivering world-class collaborative solutions globally with its unique MediaTone Network ...We are excited to be able to bring cost-effective WebEx solutions to our customers. Indian businesses are not interested in expensive legacy software solutions for their global needs and WebEx on-demand model is ideal for our market,'' its CEO and Managing Director Ramanathan Ramanan said.

With 18 offices, 150 service locations and over 3,500 employees worldwide, CMC provided a wide spectrum of unique IT solutions and services to a clientele of premier organisations in the Government and private sectors.

CMC separately announced that it would deliver complete outsourced systems management services to its global customers, based on the new system management solution from WebEx. CMC would leverage its skilled resources to provide large-scale remote desktop management services bundled with WebEx system management solution.

Power Corpn chief alleges corruption

Pondicherry, Mar 10 (UNI) Power Corporation Chairman L Joseph Mariodass today alleged prevalance of widespread corruption in the organisation. Addressing a press conference here, Mr Mariodass said there was corruption in purchase of spare parts and fuel. Orders were given for spares already in stock for personal benifits.
