BJP alleges armed intrusion in Ritambra's ashram

Lucknow, Mar 10 (UNI) The Opposition BJP today alleged armed intrusion in the ashram of Sadhvi Ritambra late last night.

BJP members raised the issue during Zero Hour of the state legislative assembly. They claimed that nine armed intruders entered the Vapshalya ashram of the sadhvi in Vrindavan late last night and beat up the guard. When the ashram inmates switched on the lights, the intruders fled firing in the air. The sadhvi was in the ashram at the time of the incident.

BJP members demanded security cover for the leader. Her security cover was reportedly removed a fortnight ago.

Sadhvi Ritambra is one of the accused in the Ayodhya demolition case.

State Parliamentary Affairs minister Md Azam Khan assured to look into the incident.

No proposal to withdraw government guarantees to LIC: FinMin

New Delhi, Mar 10 (UNI) The government has no plan to withdraw its guarantees on 15 crore LIC policies under the Fiscal Responsibility and Budget Management (FRBM) Act, the Lok Sabha was informed today. Noted economist Sengupta asks govt to revise petro prices

RS members contest govt claim of increase in forest cover

New Delhi, Mar 10 (UNI) The government's claim that the forest cover in the country was increasing was hotly contested by members in the Rajya Sabha today. The reply of Minister for Forest and Environment Namo Narain Meena to a question on the measures being taken for checking destruction of forests failed to satisfy the questioner, Mr Sanjay Raut of Shiv Sena. He said the Minister had flooded the answer with schemes and projects the government.....
