Sonia Gandhi thanks Karunanidhi on seat sharing

Chennai, Mar 10: Congress President and United Progressive Alliance (UPA) Chairperson Sonia Gandhi yesterday (Mar 09, 2006) thanked DMK President Mr Karunanidhi for amicably completing the seat sharing with all the allies in the DPA.

Ms Gandhi conveyed her appreciation to Mr Karunanidhi whose party DMK is leading the DPA, speaking to him over telephone from New Delhi, according to a press relesse from DMK.

Ms Gandhi also informed Mr Karunanidhi that she would discuss the dates for campaigning with him soon.

Mah to strengthen mother-children health mission

Mumbai, Mar 9 (UNI) Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh today said the government has decided to strengthen Rajmata Jijai Mother-Children Health Mission in an attempt to free the state of malnutrition. Speaking at a meeting of the steering committee of the mission, Mr Deshmukh said the mission's work in tribal-dominated Nandurbar, Nasik, Gadchiroli, Amravati and Thane has been satisfactory.
