Bar raided, 30, including 10 bar dancers, nabbed

Pune, Mar 9 (UNI) The police today raided a dance bar at Sinhgad here this morning and arrested 30 persons, including 10 bar dancers.

Police said acting on a tip-off, they raided the hotel and arrested the bar girls along with the visitors. They also seized foreign liquor worth Rs 7,000, which was being sold illegally in the hotel. The owner of the hotel, Gulab Jedhe, went absconding, police added.

New Delhi, Mar 10: An earthquake measuring 5.2 on the richter scale shook the Indian Ocean region off Andaman Islands yesterday night (Mar 09, 2006), the Met office said.There were immediate reports of damages because of the moderate intensity quake, at 2042 hrs. Earthquakes of such intensity do not usually cause any damage.Hundreds of aftershocks have rattled the Andaman region ever since the December 2004 temblor off Sumatra that touched off a tsunami and devastated lives along.....

Adequate arrangement to tackle drinking water problem: Minister

Bhopal, Mar 9 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Public Health Engineering Minister Rampal Singh today announced in the assembly that the government will build small stop dams in order to tackle drinking water problems during summer besides digging handpumps in all villages in next two years. Replying to the debate on demand for grants for PHE and Social Welfare departments for 2006-07, Mr Singh said closed schemes will be revived and pending works finished in scheduled time.....

Hyderabad, Mar 9 (UNI) The Andhra Pradesh Backward Classes Welfare organisation will hold BC Employees conference here on March 11 to press their demands, including 50 per cent reservation in Parliament and the State Assemblies and implementation of Mandal Commission recommendations in toto. The OBCs wanted the Union Government to provide reservation for OBC employees in promotions, set up a separate department to look into their welfare and allocate Rs 5,000 crore in the Budget.....
