How do you fancy India's chances in the Sydney Olympics?

Truly speaking, the present team is not so strong and they lack confidence. Ability of 1950s and 60s is missing and too much hockey is also killing them.

Who is your best player of all times?

I think Dhyan Chand was the best player I have ever seen. His passing and dribbling abilities were extraordinary. When I played with him, I used to be in awe of his skills. He was fantastic.

Dhyan Chand used to score goals from any angle inside the scoring area. I have also heard of his brother Roop Singh, who according to many was a better player that Dhyan. But I haven't seen Roop Singh play.

What is your advice for aspiring youngsters, who would like to pursue a career in hockey?

Youngsters must play a talented game. They must become a gifted player in order to play for the country.

It now moves into its final journey towards Sydney. The torch relay has surely been purged of its.....
